Did I join them

I was not with them

not one of the disciple. the twelve,

those who had followed

those who traveled with Jesus

not from Galilee

the center of his ministry

not even from Bethany

where he raised Lazarus

A citizen of Jerusalem

a Levite, perhaps,

working in the Temple

Did I join them

would I follow

did I stand there

did I shout “Hosanna!?!”

Who was this man

Jesus, Messiah!

Was he the Christ,

the One foretold?

Did I stand there

or did I join them

entering Jerusalem

before the coming storm?
