This Passover Seder - 2

More than a thousand years the same
but now totally different
this Passover Seder
unlike all the others
since the beginning of time

Moses ancient words
remembering their deliverance
freedom from the land of Egypt
a meal with rich symbols
since the beginning of time

Changed in these words of Jesus
new at this Passover Seder
the ancient words transformed
the bread become His body
the wine now His blood

Christ’s new words of remembrance
His time with us
His choice to service, to sacrifice
in submission to God
to climb the rugged cross

This Passover Seder
in David’s city, Jerusalem
transformed forever, for all time
sharing with His first disciples
His body and His blood.
