Dyke Bridge – v2

I had to go there, to see it for myself, to go there
to test the theory of an accident, a mistake
minutes, hours that changed history
while our eyes were on another Sea
Tranquility Base, the Moon.
Miles and miles away
from the slip of land,
width of a bridge
dark channel
sunken car
death
sin

Yes,
It is a place
not easy to reach
a turn against the course
of the road, the fall-line of the hill
A mistake too hard to fathom, to believe
Haunting the hopes of a family, a dynasty
the fallen son, the martyred one, and the Broken One
