the worn places visible

the worn places visible

where the glaze had chipped off

where the way had been rougher

I am a broken vessel

my body damaged

my spirit weighed down

by many tears

only by Jesus

able to hold water

my vessel empty

made worthy

my scars visible

cracks in my vessel

water would be leaking

but for Jesus

filling the gaps

mending the cracks in my spirit

the brokenness healed

my sins forgiven

yes, the scars remain,

but I am redeemed
