At the Appointed Time – v3

At the appointed time,

the time when God had ordained it

Even the Son was predestined

for the steps on this path.

So at that appointed time

before the betrayal, Gethsemane,

the bread and the cup were shared

His words transforming the one meal forever.

The blood, the lamb, this bread

all now of the new covenant

by His sacrifice and saving;

We are given new life.
