I let go of my life

this may be a rough draft of a prayer I have already started
words less layered than they may once have been
I am more hopeful that I mean them, each word,
that this truly is the present cry of my heart
I let go of my life, my attempts to control my steps,
to love, to protect my family
my sense of security, of position, of station
I submit myself to You, as did Jesus there, in the garden, Gethsemane
use me for Your purpose, for Your will only, not my own,
set me to whatever You choose, wherever I might serve You
I long to be Your Servant, as He was so long ago.
